All aboard! It’s Polar Express Pajama Day! All the kindergarteners at my sons school just finished parading around the campus to show off their train cars.

Thought it’d be a great idea to share how we made ours, for others to see for their own next Polar Express Pajama Day. It is super fun for the kids to do and so easy to make!

My son is into Marvel these days and he wanted Iron Man theme for his car. I actually found the image on Google and just traced it for my cutting machine to cut the file for me.

If you don’t own a cutting machine, you can always use a xacto knife or scissors and cut the images manually.

If you have a cutting machine, you’re going to cut this image using my free cut files (they are in my free resource library — request and get the password at the bottom of this post).

SUPPLIES USED:

  • Cardboard Box
  • Acrylic Paint
  • Foam Brush (Dollar Tree)
  • Paper Plate (your choice)
  • Glue
  • Black marker
  • Christmas ribbon
  • Christmas decorations (of your choice)
  • Image used (you can get this free file in my resource library) – cut up images and letters.

Step 1
Cut up and remove the 3 flaps on top – leaving one (this will be used for the dashboard).
Also cut up and remove all the flaps on the bottom.

Step 2
Paint the box on all sides and let it dry.

Step 3
Put some glue for the cut up images, texts and paper plates.

Step 4
Decorate it with any Christmas decorations that you prefer. As for the dashboard, I just drew the gauge with a black marker and my son decorated his dashboard with pom-poms.
Then stapled the ribbons on the box, so it can hang on to his shoulders.

And that’s it! Such a fun project to do with my son. He was so proud and just loves it! Let me know what you think of this project, just leave me a comment below. Happy crafting!
