If you haven’t heard just yet, Design Space is moving next Wednesday, January 29, 2020, the web browser version of Design Space will no longer be available.

So when you type in design.cricut.com, you will get a message that you are currently using the web version of Design Space. You will be directed to download the desktop app. And I would suggest to download it now before the switch happens.

So basically we are saying goodbye to the browser version of Design Space. Per Cricut’s website, the update will roll out over 7 days so you may not get it right away. Which it’s pretty simple, and not to worry because everything should be there for you. Your projects and images, the only difference is that you’ll be opening Design Space from your desktop vs. a web browser.

It is supposed to be a faster connections between the software and our machine when we cut our projects, which I am ecstatic about. This should provide us a better experience, so woohoo Cricut!

Here’s the step by step on how to download Cricut Design Space app onto your computer in case you needed help.

Step 1
Once you type in design.cricut.com.
Screen below is what you will see.
Now, click on new project or plus (+) sign.

Step 2
You will get a message Heads UP!
Click download now.

Step 3
This screen will pop up and click download button.

Note: I am using a MacBook, and this is what I see when it’s downloading.

Step 4
Once it’s done downloading.
Double-click the file.

Note: It shows below that it’s opening and running.

Step 5
This screen below will pop up.
Click on the Cricut Design Space app

Step 6
This pop up will show and click “open”

Step 7
This “Invalid Launch Path” popped up for me and I am unsure if it will for you. If it does, do not worry.
Just click ok, and go to the next step.

Step 8
Open the application folder.

Step 9
Click on Cricut Design Space app and just drag it to the application folder as shown below.

Step 10
This image below is the default pop up, but ensure to click “Replace”.

Step 11
It is copying and transferring to the Application folder.

Step 12
Once it’s done transferring, the Cricut Design Space app has been installed. See image below for when I copied and pasted the app n my desktop for reference.

It’s pretty easy right? Well, I hope that I was able to help you update your own Cricut Design Space app into your computer or laptop and I look forward to using this app as much as everyone else. Happy Cricuting!
