Have you tried making these diy fabric badge reel? I kid you not, this has got to be the easiest and fastest project I’ve ever done.
One of my subscribers on YouTube had made a request on how to make these fabric badge reels. At first, I wasn’t sure which one she was talking about because there are tons of different kinds online. But she expressed to me that she wanted to gift them to her friends/co-workers that are on a medical field. So, I went online and started searching for the materials that are needed, so I can do a simple diy fabric badge reel tutorial and share it with her.

SUPPLIES USED:
- Fabric (scraps)
- Flat Buttons (Size 60)
- Flat Buttons Refill
- Velcro Dots (Dollar Tree)
- or E-6000
- Badge Reels (Dollar Tree)
- Badge Reels (if you prefer alligator/multi-colors)
- HTV (optional – apply inspirational quotes)
- Image used (you can get this free file in my resource library)
The flat button that I am using were purchased online as a kit. And the fabric were just left over from all the face masks I’ve used in the past. So, if you have scraps of fabric laying around, this would be one of the simple projects I would add on your list. This would be a great little gift to give to friends and family.
Prep
So I started with cutting the fabric in circles at 2.5 inches all around.

Take a piece of the circle fabric, and make sure that the fabric is facing right side down. Then take the thicker piece of the flat button and place it on top of the fabric and center it.

Place both on the clear bowl part of the button tool (I apologize, I don’t know what this is called).

Then grab the thinner/back part of the button.
Ensure that you gather all fabric is all gathered in there, before placing the cover on top.

Grab the pink round tool and place it on top. Then push down, to give it a good press.

Remove the button out of the clear bowl.

You can use these velcro dots to make the buttons interchangeable (E-6000 is another option).
Just stick and press the button and the badge reel to keep each other together.
You can either leave the fabric badge reel plain with their cute patterns on it. And/or you can add HTV to add some inspirational quotes, monograms or whatever you’d like. It’s completely up to you.
This is too fun and easy of a little project not to try. I mean, just look how cute this is. This would be a great gift to give out anytime, any day!
Let me know what you guys think of this project. And I hope that you all enjoy and Happy crafting!
