Is it me or crafting for less than $5 is the best feeling or what? Haha! Yeah it must be the frugal self in me talking. You see it’s been a practice of mine for over a decade not to spend too much on the things I don’t need. It has been an addiction.

My best friend used to tease me (she still does) because I will not spend anything over a dollar or two to buy things for myself. We would shop around and she would yell across the store and say “C’mon Cece, you need to up your budget to $5!” Then we would just laugh out loud! I’m sorry I’m so cheap, but not really sorry.
Do you splurge on yourself? Because I try. I mean, who doesn’t love Joanns, Hobby Lobby and Michaels? I always feel like I’m in Disneyland whenever I’m in these stores. I get the adrenaline rush when I see new things are out or there’s a great sale. I feel so high, I could be there all day long! Ha!
Anyway, sorry I got carried away. Let me walk you through on how to make these wreathes for less than $5.00.

SUPPLIES USED:
- Candy Cane Frame (Dollar Tree)
- Buffalo Check Flannel Fabric
- Hot Glue Gun
- Christmas decorations of your choice (floral and candy cane candy sticks – Dollar Tree)
Note: Cut 2 strips of the flannel fabric 40″ X 3″.
Prepare
Cut the fabric into 2 strips at 40″ X 3″.
Step 1
Start on the bottom of the frame, and place the fabric diagonally. Take the other side of the fabric and decide how much would you like to tuck the fabric in.
Adjust as needed. Then place a hot glue on the fabric to hold or secure them together.

Step 2
Wrap the strip of fabric all the way till the end of the fabric.
Place hot glue to hold and secure.
Take the other strip of fabric and do the same thing.
Find the placement where you want to start the strip.
Put a hot glue onto the fabric to secure them together.

Step 3
Wrap the fabric all the way till the end of the fabric.
Place hot glue to hold and secure.
Tip: Adjust as needed.

Step 4
Fold the ends of the fabric (top and bottom) and ensure to place a hot glue to hold or secure together.
Step 5
Now cut a hole on top of the metal part of the frame. This will secure the decoration that i am going to insert into the frame.
Place a hot glue to hold and secure the decoration on to the frame.

Now im going to create a ribbon, which I am no expert at this. But just create a couple of loops. As ss you can see i am trying to determine how big of a bow do i want for this frame.

Create a couple more loops and adjust as needed. And I have these ornament wires, and I will place this on the middle of the bow.
But first kinda pinch the middle of the bow, place the wire, bend and twist. This will help to keep it together.

What so great about wire ribbons is, it is so easy to work with. Just fluff it up and adjust as you’d like, then trim the ribbon.
Now im going to cut a piece of the ribbon to place it on the middle of the bow. Fold the ribbon in place, then put hot glue to hold and secure.

Im just going to fluff this up again and adjust as needed.
Fold the end of the ribbon in half and cut upwards to create the “v” at the end of the ribbon.
Place the bow underneath the decoration to see where exactly you want it to be, then put hot glue and place the bow back under the decoration.

I also found these candy cane peppermint candy at the dollar tree, and im just going to add glue on these and place it between the frame and the decoration.

And that’s it.. Doesnt that look pretty? It is super easy you guys, i love how this one turned out.

Now let’s go to the next wreathe.
