Are you finding yourself stuck on what else can you make for Christmas? I know I do. I get these moments and it is pretty frustrating, right? I just try to regroup and create simple things for starters. Because I know in the end, I will appreciate it and love it!
My son whose in kindergarten loves to sound out his words and I thought making these cutesy wooden ornaments would be another fun way for him to read when we decorate our Christmas tree. I found these Mini Jenga blocks at the Dollar Tree, and I know my kids will love it. It’ll be just as special as the other ones we already have in our collections.

So let me walk you through on how to make this stenciled personalized wooden ornament. But first don’t forget to grab this free svg file in my resource library.
You can also watch the video tutorial on my YouTube channel.
Once you’ve downloaded and uploaded the file onto your workspace. Ensure to resize the image to your liking and cut all the pieces with your cutting machine using my free cut files (they are in my free resource library — request and get the password at the bottom of this post).
If you don’t have a cutting machine you can use a marker to write the words or names on the wooden ornaments.

Prepare
Once the images has been cut with your cutting machine, just weed the unwanted stencil vinyl and put them aside for now.
Step 1
Paint the wood with white acrylic paint all over the wood. Then set aside to dry.
Step 2
Once the paint is dry.
Grab and place the stencil onto the painted wood. Burnish the stencil onto the wood. Then remove the transfer paper.
Repeat this process for the rest of the painted wood.
Step 3
Once you’ve placed all the stencil words onto the wood. I paint over the wood and the stencil, set it aside and let the paint dry.
Repeat this process for the rest of the wood.
Step 4
Once the paint is dry. I used a tweezer to pick and remove the stencil vinyl.
Repeat this process for the rest of the wood.
Step 5
Next is, I take a pick and punch a hole on the side center of the wood where I can place the screws eye. This will help by turning the screws onto the wood.
Tip: I also like to use pliers to help me finish turning the screws without hurting my hands.
Step 6
Then grab a twine and insert it into the screw eyes. Then decorate it as you wish. I used these mini glitter lightbulbs that I found at Hobby Lobby.
Tip: I also used a glittered washi tape for the other ornaments (see photo below).

And that’s it! Look how simple and beautiful these turned out to be! Let me know what you think of these and how it all turned out for you.
Happy crafting!
